Home practice check-ins for speech, OT, and PT

The exercises come home from therapy.
The practice actually happens.

Cronote sends a practice check-in by text or email on the days you choose. One tap logs Done or We struggled in the browser, no app and no password. You watch the logged weeks add up, and a quiet stretch is information, not a guilt trip.

Free for parents, with unlimited app and email delivery. We struggled is a real answer, never a failure state. No diagnosis or goal details ever appear in a text. Sending reminders since 2010.

The problem

Nobody forgets on purpose. Home practice just loses to everything else.

The therapist sends home a folder and a plan. Then real life happens: dinner, homework, bedtime, repeat. By Thursday nobody can remember whether practice happened on Monday.

The folder never leaves the backpackThe home program is written down somewhere. Between school pickup and bedtime, somewhere is not enough.
Life with kids is chaosYou did not skip practice because you do not care. You skipped it because Tuesday fell apart, and so did Wednesday.
The awkward session question"How did practice go this week?" You genuinely cannot remember, so you guess, and the guess is not useful to anyone.
Streak apps make it worseA broken streak on day 12 feels like failure, so the whole app gets deleted. A hard week needs a kinder system, not a scoreboard.
How it works

A text, a tap, and a record that adds up.

  • Create the weekly check-in: "Practice week. Did you get a few minutes in most days? Done or We struggled." Set it to repeat weekly on the day you choose, forever.
  • Pick the channel: Text or email, whatever you actually read. The check-in arrives as a normal message and one tap logs the answer in the browser.
  • Watch the weeks add up: Every answer lands on the reminder's detail page, week by week. Logged 9 weeks means logged 9 weeks. There is no streak to break.
  • A quiet stretch is information: Turn on "No answer? Notify me" and the reminder's owner gets a heads-up when a check-in has gone 10 days without an answer, so the plan gets adjusted instead of abandoned.
  • Confirm your email: One tap after you sign up, so your check-ins are never held. This is the step people skip and regret.

Ways to use it

Three setups that keep a home program alive.

Set them up once. They run every week on their own, and the record builds itself.

The weekly practice check-in

Every Sunday evening: "Practice week. Did you get a few minutes in most days? Done or We struggled." One tap and the week is logged. Both answers count, because both answers are true.

The five-minute nudge

A short daily reminder at the moment practice actually fits your house: "Speech practice. Five minutes before bath time." Day and activity only, nothing clinical, nothing to install.

Moment

The caseload check-in

For therapists: one weekly check-in to every family on your caseload, imported from a CSV. The detail page shows which weeks each family logged, and "No answer? Notify me" tells you when a family has gone quiet for 10 days.

FAQ

Common questions

Does anyone need to install an app?

No. The check-in arrives as a normal text message or email, and one tap logs the answer in the browser. Parents who set up their own check-in create a free Cronote account; a family receiving a check-in from a therapist installs nothing and creates no account.

What does the check-in text actually say?

The day, the activity, and a one-tap answer, nothing else. For example: "Practice week. Did you get a few minutes in most days? Done or We struggled." No diagnosis, no goal details, and nothing clinical ever appears in the message.

What happens when we miss a week?

You tap We struggled and the week is logged honestly. There are no streaks, no badges, and nothing to break. A missed week is information that helps the next conversation with your therapist, not a failure state.

Can our therapist see the answers?

Only if the therapist is the one sending the check-in. When a parent sets up their own check-in, the answers are the parent's alone. When a therapist sends the weekly check-in to their families, the therapist sees which weeks each family logged on the reminder's detail page.

How much does it cost?

Cronote is free for parents, including unlimited app and email delivery, so a family running its own check-in typically pays nothing. Text messages use one-time credit packs that never expire: $5 for 100 texts, $15 for 500, $40 for 2,000, with no subscription. A weekly text to one family is about 4 to 5 texts a month, and every account starts with 10 free text credits.

I am a therapist. Can my clinic use this for a whole caseload?

Yes. Import your caseload roster from a CSV, send one weekly check-in to every family, and see which weeks each family logged on the reminder's detail page. "No answer? Notify me" tells you when a family has not answered for 10 days. Check-in texts carry no diagnosis or goal details by design, and a Business Associate Agreement is available for clinics.

For therapists and clinics

One weekly text. Your whole caseload, accounted for.

The visibility problem in home programs is not effort, it is silence. A weekly check-in text with a one-tap answer turns silence into a signal you can act on between sessions.

For SLPs, OTs, and PTs

  • Import your caseload from a CSV: one roster upload, one weekly check-in to every family. Families receive a normal text or email and install nothing.
  • See which weeks each family logged: Done and We struggled both land on the reminder's detail page, week by week, so the next session starts from what actually happened.
  • Know when a family goes quiet: "No answer? Notify me" alerts you when a family has not answered for 10 days, while there is still time to adjust the plan.
  • Priced for a caseload, not a subscription: texts cost cents apiece via one-time credit packs, about 4 to 5 texts per family per month, and a Business Associate Agreement is available.
